Kobe Bryant and the Meaning of “Honesty”
“To be honest, I said D’Antoni was my first choice because I didn’t even know Phil was going to be an option…” – Bryant on the Lakers selection for head coach.
Kobe, honesty has nothing to do with unexceptional opinions and post-exposé confessions. Comments like, “That’s just because he hasn’t won any championships,” Bryant said. “To be honest, we might have done in all the years I’ve been with Phil maybe three defensive drills,” just ain’t about bein’ honest. Kobe, you, and all those other dipbumps in the sports, entertainment, and radio talk show biz, will you please stop misusing “honest?”
Kobe, here’s what you could say to be honest: “I think I’m the shit and, to be honest, that’s why I cheat on my wife all the time. And I’m not going to change. But I’m going make it work and save my marriage so I don’t have to pay up the ass in alimony.”
Faux-Honesty: Final verdict on Kobe, if dude can’t be truthful, he’ll never be honest.
